Divergent opinion of Fr. Budczies, 1887
 

In the year 1887, Fr. Budczies presented an essay in the periodical "Märkische Forschungen", pointing to the following facts:

In the Adelslexikon by von Ledebur as well as in "Der abgestorbene Adel der Mark Brandenburg" by Mülversted, the town, where the family lived was noted with "Woldenberg in der Neumark".

However, the name of the real location is Woldenberg in the "Oberbarnim"-county, which, starting in the 17th. century, nowadays is called Wollenberg.

Budczies gives emphasize to the fact, that a relation between the familiy in the "Oberbarnim" and the one in the Prignitz can be excluded due to the differing contents of their sets of arms.
